Once a month, Sunny Au pair participants are gathered together with their coordinator, Suzy Zhang to participate and enjoy fun activities, trips and events. Our monthly Au pair meetings and events enable our au pairs have fun, meet new people and enjoy cultural immersive experiences in China. During our meetings, discussions are carried out on child safety, age-appropriate activities and the overall wellbeing and experiences of our Au Pairs. This month, coordinator Suzy Zhang, arranged a visit to the Forbidden City (The Palace Museum), in Beijing China.
The Forbidden City is a palace complex in central Beijing, China. The former Chinese imperial palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty (the years 1420 to 1912), it now houses the Palace Museum. The Forbidden City served as the home of emperors and their households as well as the ceremonial and political centre of Chinese government for almost 500 years.
All Au Pairs met up at 12:00am at the Tian’anmenxi Subway Station, before making their way to the boarding gate of the museum, where tickets were purchased for everyone.
The girls were amazed by the architecture and the enormous size of the palace. They enjoyed the Chinese fruit candy delicacies as they walked through the square and listened to the audio guides at the museum.
We also visited the Jewel House, where we saw various kinds of rare treasures owned by the emperor including the imperial thrones, dragon robes, imperial jade seal and imperial crowns.
The au pairs enjoyed meeting each other; we all discussed about our experiences and difficulties and swapped numbers with each other.
After exploring the museum, we went to the Jing Hill, just outside The Palace Museum where we got to see an aerial view of the Forbidden City. It was breathtaking.
We all had a wonderful trip, it was lovely to meet with the au pairs and see all of them were having a great time during their stay.
